In many ways, the years 1970-76 are probably pop music's most sunshine heavy. In the UK and the US, the grim economic outlook, an oil crisis, electricity blackouts, endless strikes, racial tensions and the Vietnam War ultimately all called for light-hearted pop antidotes here, there and everywhere. Plus ça change! This month’s show forgoes all those woes and basks in the (seemingly) endless sunshine of Seventies summers and the music they inspired. Hazy sounds from the endless daylight of Scandinavia! British, American and German rockers going pastoral! East German funk, hot love and much more...
