Future Pop: Toxic
15.08.25This monthβs Future Pop show is centred upon the thesis presented in Sarah Ditumβs book Toxic: Women, Fame and the Noughties. Through her explorations of the βUpskirt Decadeβ, elastically located between 1998 and 2013, Ditum explores fifteen years in which the world became so altered, itβs hard to recapture what it meant to live through them. For the first time, the hypertrophied female celebrity was born thanks to the digital wild west that exploded into existence at the turn of the century. Expect music from Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Aaliyah and more.
