The TR13E is a loose collective of Bristol-based DJs and record collectors, helmed by journalist and author Matt Anniss (Join The Future, RBMA, Resident Advisor, DJ magazine). The TR13E’s membership list is a closely guarded secret, but also includes Legendary Tone, Spice Route, Hepple and Andy Payback. Since forming in January 2013, the TR13E has dedicated itself to the original ideal of the ambient house “chill out room”, a space where there are no musical boundaries and a laidback, loved-up aesthetic is the primary concern. In practice, that means an eclectic, off-kilter mixture of sunset sounds, sunrise grooves, ritualistic rhythms and mind-altering experimentalism – all mixed together with a vast array of spoken word samples, field recordings and sound effects to create memorable musical journeys.
