Infinite Spirit Music (Alvin Lucier Special)
06.12.21This show is to pay tribute to the late Alvin Lucier and his well-known piece "I am sitting in a room" that he has played extensively over the last 50 years. You will listen to different takes of the piece, recorded at different times between 1969 and 2019 and at different places throughout the world. Each take is unique and of different length. The idea behind mixing those takes together (ending up playing 4 takes at the same time after 10 / 15 minutes until the end) is to show the musicality and the various rhythms coming out the "natural resonant frequencies of the room articulated by speech".
